My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

THIS IS MOXIE LOUIE!! We couldn't decide on either name, so we decided since he is a big boy, he deserves a big name!! Moxie Louie was being dumped at the OC Shelter by his owner's boyfriend who said it was either him or the dog, so guess who was being given up? Our puller intercepted him and, because she has a young child, decided to leave him to us. To know Moxie Louie is to love him! He is a bit larger than you’re typical Lhasa, but this is not a typical boy! He is, however, all Lhasa Apso. He’s 25-pounds, gold and white, and never seems to tire of belly rubs. Moxie Louie is a handsome boy, loves going for walks and enjoys puppies and small dogs. He has been taught basic obedience commands, walks in the heel position, is comfortable in his crate and is potty trained. Because of Louie’s occasional “Lhasatude” we recommend a home where his new parents are experienced with the breed/dogs and knows that humans are top dog, not Louie. If he’s allowed to take over your household, he will try, so he’ll need assistance in keeping his manners in line. He is making great progress controlling his “Lhasatude” but the best home would be a home without young kids. Probably focusing on Moxie Louie as the only dog would be preferable; he is still a bit fearful of big dogs, but one of his own size would be fine. He’s a lovable, very mellow big boy who really just wants to please you and to be loved to life, not death!! Moxie Louie is the epitome of the breed, loyal and protective.....he just wants to belong to someone who will not abandon him!

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID

If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed.

We currently hold our weekly adoption events every Sunday (unless we are doing a special event) at the WESTFIELD CENTURY CITY MALL located at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd., Century City, Los Angeles 90067. Enter off Santa Monica Blvd and park in the ORANGE section in the parking structure. Take the escalator up and follow the signage. We will be located near the Brooks Brothers (look for the purple tent in the Plaza between the two buildings) from 12 - 4PM

Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!

Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events!

See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes.

Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption…and for considering saving a life. It will be the best gift you ever give yourself or your family.
