My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sally is a 2-year-old Boston mix that was found in a rural shelter in GA. She had a severe skin infection called demodex which she has recovered from now. With love, good care and nutrition, she will probably not have it again since it is related to a compromised immune system from having the hard life that was her lot before coming into rescue.

Sally is a sweet girl who loves to hug you, literally. She takes her front legs and paws and wraps them around your legs and hugs you! She is so grateful to have been saved. She is a little bigger than your typical Boston, about 34 lb.

Saly's ideal home would be one with older kids and someone to work with her in obedience training so she could learn to sit and lie down on command. She would be too much for little kids as she would tend to knock them down just being her exuberant self. Sally is a very loving dog and is eager to please. She is house-trained and crate-trained (althoguh she really doesn't like the crate that much). She does like to lie near you when you are doing "quiet" things.

Sally is spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on all her vaccines. She tested positive for heartworms, but is on the slow-kill heartworm treatment which just involves giving pills supplied by the rescue. Dogs typically test negative for heartworms in 12-15 months after being on this treatment. For questions about hte slow-kill heartworm treatment, call Susie at 803-279-8069.

For questions about Sally, call her foster mom, Gloria, at 706-541-2052. To adopt Sally, go to bostonrescueofsc.com and fill out the adoption application. Sally's adoption fee is $175.
