Alexis's Story...
When I first arrived at the SPCA, I was not looking so hot. My fur was all matted and I was a mess. Thanks to the staff here, I have a new 'do and I'm feeling much better. Despite what I have been through, I have kept my up beat attitude and my playful disposition. I just love to be around people and I am very good at checking in to make sure everyone is having a good time. Are you in need of a lap warmer? Well, I would like to apply for the position because cuddling is my favorite activity. If you throw in a belly rub, I will be your most devoted little lady! When cuddle time is over, I enjoy running around and playing. I really, really love my toys to the point that I do not like to share with anyone! Therefore, I am only recommended for households with older children (12+). Come and visit be today. I just may be the little love bug for you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alexis, a Harrisonburg Poodle (Miniature)/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Miniature)/Shih Tzu for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Poodle (Miniature)/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Miniature)/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Poodle (Miniature)/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
