My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Baby Blue is the cutest 18 months old female Border Collie Mix you would ever see.  She has wiry fur on her face which indicates she is mixed with a larger Terrier type breed.  We call her Blue, but named her for those beautiful baby blue eyes.  She is black and white with a mottled split faced and has a semi rough coat.  She is still a young adolescent and has appropriate energy for her age.  Blue requires consistent exercise and training, to keep her from getting bored.  She is also crate trained.   This is what her foster home has to say about her:

“Blue is a happy little puppy.  Blue gets along with my BC and they play off and on all day long. Blue gets along with her foster siblings – one is a male BC and the other is a smaller dog and she doesn’t want to herd them.  She does not know any basic commands, but I am working with her and she looks like she is going to be a quick learner. Blue is food motivated, so training her will be easy. When I brought her home, I didn’t know if she was potty trained, but she went to the back door when its time to go out.  She likes to walk on the right side of the person walking her. She has a little problem where she lunges at other dogs on a leash but with a little correction it can be fixed (I am working on this when we go on walks).  Today she went to the dog park and she is great with other dogs and loves to run with them around the park.  She loves people as she makes her daily rounds to every person at the park and says hello to them. I noticed that there was a 6 year old child in the park with his mom that I know.  Blue went to the boy and gave him the biggest kiss.  She was so good with him that I assume she will be good around all children.  However, parents should supervise her around kids as she likes to jump on them and may knock over the little ones.  Later, I’m going to take the dogs swimming, so I will let you know more about her tonight.”

We will update Blue’s bio as we get to know her better.  She is a lovely dog and would be an excellent choice for the first time herding breed owner, as she does not exhibit any of the idiosyncrasies that border collies are known for.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled.
