Hello everybody, Lacey here. I was quite frightened, stressed, and a wee bit shy when I first arrived at the Centre but now that I’ve been here for a while things are turning out just fine. I am not so skittish when people reach for me and understanding that the humans around here mean me no harm. I am still hesitant when people approach but once I get comfortable my sweetness shines through and my playful personality starts to come out. I was given up, along with my brother Gizmo, because we were having accidents in the house. I guess my family didn’t read the manual on Dachshunds; otherwise they would have known that we can be a tad stubborn when it comes to that. Patience and frequent trip outside – I must be encouraged in the snow and rain – will get me back on track. I appreciate any kindness shown to me and I am extremely loyal. I am looking for a quiet, gentle home and a patient guardian who can work with me to overcome my initial fears. Given a little time for me to bond, I will be forever grateful. If you think that I am as gorgeous as everyone at the centre does, fill in that Adoption Form soon. Don’t forget, the name is L-A-C-E-Y!
