My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Phoenix, I am six months old and I have a story to tell. I was only 7 weeks old and down to one last breath when I cried out to Heaven to save me. With tear soaked fur, I sat there in a heap of trash, inside a garbage bag still believing and praying that there’s something left for me here on this earth. How did I get here, what went wrong? I replayed it back over and over in my head. We were going to the park, that’s what I was told. It was warm and humid that Sunday afternoon in April. The clouds covered the sky; the smell of rain was in the air. As we drove up to the park, it was quiet and desolate. To the left I could see the lake; I thought; wow, how pretty! The car stopped and we got out. The human placed me down on the soft green grass, then went to the car and came back carrying a big black bag. The human put the bag down on the ground; then picked me up. I kissed the human’s face, I was so excited. Then all of a sudden my world went dark and I couldn’t move; it was getting harder and harder to breathe. Wait, don’t leave me……… I screamed from the top of my lungs! Please come back…. I waited; nothing, just silence. I was confused, my heart was broken and my love betrayed. Coughing, sucking in every bit of air I could find and in a desperate plea, I asked God to please save me! I closed my eyes, I was tired. Sweet voices began to fill my head, I must be dreaming. A sudden burst of air woke me. Eyes opened, I was overwhelmed by the sight of friendly faces standing before me. The Rescue Angels! As I look back on that day, I am not bitter, I have forgiven. Being in rescue, and with my foster family, I have learned that I am not alone, there are others like me. We all got knocked down; however, we all got back up and now we rise above the crowd. My goal in life is to help others. I am a great listener, which makes me very easy to talk to. I am mild-mannered and like meeting new people, other canines and felines. We all have one life to live; therefore, let’s not live it alone and let’s fill it with love and kindness. You and I making a difference! Let’s make it happen, go to www.foreverhome4dogsrescue.com to fill out an adoption application. You can also email foreverhome4dogs@aol.com if you have any questions. I’ll be waiting for you; peace and love, Phoenix.
