Dixie's Story...
Howdy Y'all, my name is DIxie and I came all the way from Abilene to PRA. I am so glad that I am here, my first day I got a cute little dress and so many snuggles that I couldn't believe it.

I am a 7 year old little fancy pants girl who is looking for her FUR-eve home. I did come into the rescue with Gus, but we are not a bonded pair, we just really like to be part of a pack. I would do my best in a home with another dog. I am potty trained and really get along well with my foster siblings. Snuggles and love all around!

Make sure that you put in an application today. I am very excited to meet you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Austin Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Austin, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
