My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, yall. My name is Willow and loving on you and playing are what I love to do.

Miss LIsa saw me while I was lost and trying to stay safe inside a closed swimming pool fence. This other nice lady sat by the gate while I ran to escape and gave me some tasty treats. I let them catch me because they seemed so, well, nice. Now that other lady is my foster mom and I am totally the boss of her!

Truth be told, I was GLAD to be in my person's lap again. I did NOT like street life. Now I have plenty to eat and a clean bed (well, there is a human I let share it). OH, and I got a bath...so my fur is so soft and smells so sweet.

My foster mom took me to a place where I got shots and got spayed...whatever that is, but it seems all the rage here in my foster home. All the cool dogs here have done it. My BFF here is Bitsy, who is my size and loves to play. She also sleeps with me in the bed. We have slumber parties.

My foster mom says I am heartworm positive, but I have started my pre-treatment regimen. That means, she says, I can go to my forever home and get the 'treatment' (sounds like a spa day to me) when I have finished my pre-treatment. Works for me! A forever home, according to my BFF, is the stuff dreams are made of.

I just LOVE to sit in your lap and love on you. If you look deep into my eyes, we can share secrets just like BFFs should. I only weigh 13 lbs., so I won't take up much room. Won't you give me a chance to be your REAL GOOD DOG?

The ideal home for this Real Good Dog will have a secure fenced yard. A solid history of excellent vet care for current or previous pets is required. Preference will be given to applicants who have specific breed experience.

Please visit www.realgoodrescue.com to submit an electronic application if you are interested in adopting this or any other Real Good Dog.

We adopt dogs from Memphis Animal Shelter when we can. The shelter has an 83% euthanasia rate, one of the highest in the country. Unfortunately, any dog coming from Memphis Animal Shelter, and most other shelters for that matter, will have been in contact with contagious illness. Even though the dogs have been in foster care and appear to be in good health, they may become stressed when changing environments and exhibit signs and symptoms of illness. If you have other pets, they need to be up to date on vaccines before bringing a shelter dog into your home. We will take the adopted animal back, but we are not responsible for your other animal's vet care. We always disclose where the dogs have come from. Please ask for any information about the dogs and exercise due caution if you have immunocompromised animals.
