Dewey's Story...
Dewey is a friendly male Border Collie who came to our shelter as a stray. He is about five years old. Dewey is a friendly, quiet fellow, who enjoys snuggling and going for walks. While his leash training is not perfect, he is not a big puller. Dewey has a wonderful prance to his step that makes him a real head turner!

I did not check the house trained box but I assume that Dewey knows about living indoors. He never makes any messes inside our shelter.

Dewey's coat was entirely matted when he came to us and he is still quite thin. I suspect he was out on his own for some time. We've been working on his coat as time permits.

Dewey will make someone a wonderful best friend!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dewey, a Bonners Ferry Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Bonners Ferry, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Bonners Ferry.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bonners Ferry already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bonners Ferry breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bonners Ferry paves the way for another one to be saved.
