Dora's Story...
Dora is a female Chihuahua mix and is approximately 3 years old and weighs 6 pounds. She came to us from Vermillion shelter. She is heartworm positive and will start heartworm treatment soon. She has been spayed & microchipped & had a dental. She is up to date on shots, heartworm prevention or flea prevention. She is very shy with people at first but she will roll over to get her belly rubbed. She is still learning to trust people. She is nervous around cats but it is because we don’t believe she was ever around them. Dora is looking for a quiet foster home while she undergoes heartworm treatment. Her adoption fee is $150. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dora, a New Orleans Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in New Orleans, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in New Orleans.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Orleans already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Orleans breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Orleans paves the way for another one to be saved.
