Dexter's Story...
Both of these kitties are true to their Maine Coon breed in their size and demeanor. They are gentle giants who love to be combed and brushed and once they know you, they are quick to greet.

Dee Dee is a four year old female who is is almost as big as her brother. She is very friendly once she is sure you are trustworthy.

Her brother, Dexter, on the other hand is the curious one and wants to check out all new things and people right away. Dexter knows he is gorgeous but is not obnoxious about it. He thinks everyone should love him not only for his good looks but because he's such a darned nice guy.

These two have lived in a veterinary clinic their entire lives so are very familiar with new people and other animals.

If you are interested in adopting this wonderful pair, fill out our "I'm interested" form or phone our cat coordinator at 503-284-8768 evenings and weekends.

Please note, we adopt out to the following counties: Clackamas, Multnomah, Washington and Clark.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dexter, a Portland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Portland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
