Dottie's Story...
How do you do, I’m Dottie. I’m an 18-month old young lady, weighing 48 pounds, so I’m a petite sweetie. My former owner was admitted to a VA home, and a family member asked the Talladega shelter to come and get me. So I’m really happy that AGB is helping me find a forever home. I’m a bit timid right now, but I don’t mind if you pick me up, so if you give me a little encouragement, I’ll probably be sitting in your lap in no time. When it comes to road trips, yes, count me in. I like riding in the car and I can walk nicely on a leash when I get going. I just need a human companion to go and do fun stuff together. Are you the one who will make my tail wag when I see you? Will you give me a treat every now and again? Are you looking for someone like me, just like I’m looking for someone like you? Then come on in and let’s meet!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dottie, a BIRMINGHAM Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in BIRMINGHAM, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in BIRMINGHAM.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in BIRMINGHAM already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a BIRMINGHAM breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in BIRMINGHAM paves the way for another one to be saved.
