My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CAMILLE has a coat that is wonderful in pattern and color. This striking beauty is a black and gray brindle mix who looks like she might be part Dutch Shepherd but might even have some Whippet in her. She is a year old and weighs around 50 pounds. She is an active dog and needs an active family that can provide ways for her to burn off her energy. She is smart and can learn quickly when provided with the proper training. She likes to be with other dogs and would probably do best in a house with at least one other canine playmate. She is people friendly but a little shy with new faces, especially men. She will play with older kids but has not been observed with smaller children. She seems to be good with cats since the first one she met face to face got lots of dog kisses. She is startled by loud noises, like fire and police cars and delivery trucks. She likes sturdy chew toys, such as retriever sticks and Kongs, and she loves balls and likes to play throw and catch. She may try to dig in the yard, things puppies typically like to do, if she is bored. But with playmates to focus on, she is well mannered and well behaved in the house and in the yard. She has been spayed and is current on vaccinations. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Camille if it means she will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue to cover the cost of the veterinary care she has received.
