My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zydeco is probably a Spaniel and Chihuahua Mix. He was born 4/25/14 and is probably around 7 pounds at 3.5 months old. He was adopted into a home for about a week and was returned because they had a substantial unforeseen financial crisis that made them make the difficult decision to return the puppy. He has been vaccinated, dewormed, neutered and microchipped.

Zydeco will probably be 15 pounds or so as an adult. Because we don't know what he is mixed with we can only guess, but we are suspecting that he will not be too terribly big. He is slow to adjust to new environments and is reserved and shy with strangers. Once he knows you, he is loving and sweet and loves to cuddle, sit in your lap and give kisses. Because of this, we are looking for a home with adults only or older kids. Although he is loving to the 4 year old twins in his foster home and was good with the kids in his home he was in for a week (they were around 8 and 12 years old I think) we think that he will have difficulty adjusting to the kids friends coming over. He loves to cuddle with his doggy friends and is very affectionate with them. He can sometimes be bossy with new dogs and doesn't like to share his toys or treats if another dog tries to take them from him. He is very respectful to people around his food and treats.

He has been using a puppy pad for the most part and will go outside to potty when the door is open. He is really clean in his crate and is quiet through the night and can actually hold it in his crate for around 4 hours during the day and for 8-9 hours at night. He is a loving and sweet little guy.

If you think you have the right home for him, please request an application. The adoption fee is $250 plus a $17.99 microchip registration fee.
