Maribelle's Story...
March 6th was an amazing day for AZBHR - the 1000th basset was taken in and given another chance to find happiness. Her name is Maribelle, she is a 9 1/2 year old red & white. Her foster family reports that she is a very sweet loving girl and that she is adjusting well. Maribelle was relinquished to the Rescue because someone in the family developed allergies and she had been sent to the back yard to live. She will be spayed, vaccinated and given a much needed bath and nail trim. She is also suffering from an ear infection, which will also be treated.

Maribelle will be making her TV debut later this month to help raise awareness for the need for foster homes, volunteers and donations so AZBHR can continue to take in the next 1000 needy souls.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maribelle, a Phoenix Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
