My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome boy is SARGE a gorgeous purebred Blue Weimaraner.SARGE weighs in at 70lb HE IS 2 yrs old, He has A nice temperament, and beautiful Weimy features He is blessed with stunning good looks, and beautiful soulful amber eyes that show so much love it almost hurts to look at him.
Sarge` s story >>>> Sarge is a wonderful boy that found himself in a high kill shelter in Alabama , He was reported as a stray so not much is known of his previous life. We transported him to Florida and placed him in foster care for evaluation. Sarge is a big puppy boy and loves nothing more than to play with his humans. He is a little nervous around strangers and other dogs initially but once he gains your trust he will play and cuddle up to you all day long. I believe that once he understands who is part of his world, that nervousness will disappear. We are aware of this and pay special attention in situations where he may come in contact with new dogs or people.. He is is not an excessive barker but when he barks its a loud deep bark that makes you sit up and take notice. Strange noises and new situations can, of course, illicit a bark, but he doesn't do it to get attention. Like many dogs, Sarge reacts to sirens occasionally. His head goes up and he purses his lips and lets out a very wolfish howl. He loves to eat but has no apparent food aggression. We have taken his food from him and touched him while he eats and he has never growled or made any moves against us. Also, Sarge does not hover around the table while we eat. He will "go lay down" when told to do so. He has proven that he knows "sit", "lay down", "stay", "come", "paw", "goose", "off", and "high five." He learns best through observing another dog do the tricks first but is still a very quick study on his own. He is smart and a fast learner. He is not much for swimming but is good when it comes to having a bath, which speaks to his tolerance for his "people." At first, he was scared to get in our car, or to play with any of the dog toys in the house, but we built his confidence and now he will let us do anything we want to him, such as give him a bath. He trusts us and feels comfortable as long as we show him that he will be alright. He has never chewed anything in the house or yard that was not his to chew, such as a shoe. He carries dog toys in his mouth all day and is happy to chew them up, but that is what the toys are for. Sarge pulls on the leash at the beginning of a walk but calms down after a few minutes and walks much better He loves to sit and cuddle and will gladly be a 70 lb. lap dog if you let him. Sarge takes food from your hand and plays with the utmost gentleness and care. He is aware that he could do harm but is very cautious to be sure that he doesn't. Sarge is up to date on all shots, neutered. heart worm negative and micro chipped. Sarge is happiest being in a family environment and enjoying freedom to relax in the home. We are looking to find Sarge a wonderful forever home where he can have stability and security in his life.We are looking for a forever home that can cherish him and give him the love and attention he needs, A family that is really stable and can give him that forever home that means forever. We don't ever want to see this boy back in a shelter. Sarge is so lovable, and needs a lot of cuddles. A family that will include him in their lifestyle and activities would be perfect Sarge will blossom with the right interaction.
A home with a fenced in yard Pool Lanai or acreage where he can run and play is ESSENTIAL He would do well with another dog as a companion. He would love a sister. A family that is home most of the time would work best for Sarge he dosent like to be alone for long periods and crating would NOT work for this boy. Sarge is certainly a people boy once he gets over is initial nervousness. Sarge dosent need a lot he just needs the love and consistency of a loving family. Like most Weims he is a hunter and will chase those lizards all day long. He loves to be able to explore the yard. NO CATS FOR SARGE. He loves children he is good with them all but we are looking for a family as with all of our weims children need to be 10 upwards. Or slightly younger if disciplined and can respect dogs. Sarge is active and would love to join in family activities. He loves car rides and is good in the car. Could you be the one to open up your heart and home, and make Sarge`s life complete, if so you will be rewarded with a wonderful , loyal faithful friend that will bring you endless hours of pleasure.
