Princess's Story...
Princess is a sweet black lab mix girl. She is 2 years old, weighs 60 lbs. and her personality is that of a Princess - friendly, lovable and warm. Princess was found in a rural kill shelter and with the help of several volunteers she found her way to Lucky Lab Rescue. She is now in a great foster home and thriving as a Princess should. Her foster family thinks she is great and here are a few words from her foster mom, "Princess is affectionate, playful and loves attention and human interaction. She wants to please and is friendly with children of all ages. Since she does occasionally jump up on people, which we are working on correction, she may not be good for small toddlers right now. With more training she would be great. Princess is very sweet and has a gentle demeanor." Princess walks well on a leash, enjoys playing ball, loves interacting with her 2 canine foster siblings, know the sit and paw command and working on stay. She is a great girl who would make a wonderful addition to any family. Princess has been spayed, is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and is micro-chipped. Princess is also house trained and crate trained. If you think your family would be a good fit for this 'Princess' of a girl, please complete the online adoption application and indicate her in the notes section

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Princess, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
