Rocky's Story...
Rocky, white and grey, neutered male, Shih Tzu, 1-2 years old, weighs 14 lbs, heartworm negative, available 08/13/2014, adoptable.
This little guy Rocky came to us a stray so we don’t know much about his past. However, we do know he had fun frolicking in the sticker patch because he was covered in foxtails when he came to us. We were able to clean him up and give him a hair cut. This is a friendly little guy who likes people as well as other dogs. The name Shih Tzu comes from the Chinese word for "lion dog" because this kind of dog was bred to resemble "the lion” as depicted in traditional oriental art. According to some sources, although a Shih Tzu's temperament varies from dog to dog, the breed has a personality and temperament that is loyal, affectionate, outgoing, and alert. Also, Shih Tzu dogs have been observed to get peevish if provoked, so an owner should be mindful when the dog is in the presence of children. Overall, this breed makes for a friendly and outgoing companion. Come by the Shelter and meet this sturdy little guy. Rocky is heartworm negative and already neutered. So he is all set to go to his forever home and start a new journey with you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a San Andreas Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in San Andreas, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in San Andreas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Andreas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Andreas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Andreas paves the way for another one to be saved.
