Evergreen's Story...
Evergreen here. I had a really rough start in life and wasn't to trusting of people, but I have come around slowly with the hard work the staff has done with me. I would like a calm, quieter household. One with adults would be great. I will also need someone who will limit the space I have and not give me free roam of the house or I may revert back to my introvert ways. Maybe your an introvert too who would like a little company? I am looking forward to making your acquaintance so stop in soon! Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold, we appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information please PHONE the shelter (978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk) instead of sending emails

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Evergreen, a Gloucester Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
