My basic info
Here's what the humans have to say about me:
On August 10th we got in a family of Nanday Conures. They are Elizabeth & Will (parents), Pintel and Ragetti (babies). The male, Will, is stress-plucking himself and the others and needed to be separated from the mom, Elizabeth, and kids. The adoption coordinator has been able to handle the mom and the kids, and the mom has even let her give her kisses and returned the sweetness, but the dad hasn’t decided she is trustworthy yet, other than to eat out of her hand. They are all able to be handled though and are of good weight, but currently look bad due to the dad’s stress-related behavior.
One of the kids, Ragetti, has splay legs that could have been corrected already with an easy fix had it been done early enough. Right now, he or she has a temporary splint repositioning the legs in the hopes that, as he or she grows, they will mostly correct to a meaningful placement.
Other than that, the conures are seemingly healthy and well-behaved, but they are conures, which means that they are chatty and quite loud, particularly when they want something.
