Here's what the humans have to say about me:
It seems that everyone loves Beagles and Beagle mixes (they rank in the top 5 of the most popular breeds). We do...especially if they're as sweet and so very loving as Francie . She was acknowledged at a high-kill Texas shelter for having a great personality and being so wonderful to love on and cuddle. This recognition is a tough feat considering this facility holds up to 500 dogs with a very high daily turn-in rate. Francie, at 2.5 - 3 years old and just about 14 lbs is an exceptionally beautiful Beagle. You can tell when you look into her golden eyes that her short life has held sadness and challenges..but she would never be one to carry that around. Francie absolutely loves women (and grows to love men as well) While initially very shy...give her a moment! Francie's great energy makes you melt. As she trusts more and more and before you know it, this gorgeous Beagle is in your lap letting you know you are her number 1 love! We can't think of a better or more devoted companion for a retired female or a woman raising children and searching for the sweetest playmate ever for her gentle kids. Francie would be a kind and respectful family member...she loves her people so much that she desires to behave to the best of her ability. She simply needs to understand what is being asked of her..once she's clear, she truly wants to comply. We think Francie would be very successful in positive reinforcement group obedience classes. She would naturally bond with her family while learning skills that will make her a well-trained member of the community. She desires be a long-term best friend who will always be waiting at the door with a happy tail and a kiss of greeting.
Francie will fit in with a family or individual that enjoys outdoor adventures..she loves the sunshine and would be overjoyed with a fenced yard or a sunny porch. She is more than happy to engage in anything her guardian has in mind ...and smiles with joy at being included. We feel Francie would thrive in a family that includes their dog in their lives. We feel strongly that leaving her alone at home for many, many hours wouldn't work for this sensitive girl. She's so pleasant...and would be just about perfect with the benefit of positive reinforcement group training classes. We would love a family that would give Francie the benefit of this type of socialization. She would truly be a gift to anyone searching for a playful and extremely devoted best friend.
Francie is currently being fostered in Denver. If interested in this adorable and sweet companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
