Meet Smokey!
He's a young adult neutered male pit bull type dog mix. He's just a tad bit careful at first, but quickly warms to everybody he meets. He knows "sit" & "down" and likes to chase a ball. We're still getting to know him, but are impressed! He has been quiet in our outdoor kennels, doesn't bark at our cats, although he is curious about them. Hasn't been reactive to our other dogs and seems to be an all around good boy! He is very excited to go on a walk, but settles down pretty well for a young dog.
Born Again Pit Bull Rescue regularly works with the wonderful people at the Del Norte County Animal Control located out in rural Crescent City, CA (a coastal city on the OR/CA border). They have a very small shelter with small indoor 3x6 kennel runs, low foot traffic, odd adoption viewing hours and it rains a lot which means the dogs can't come outside and play.
We want you to see some really great dogs that they have in their care--it's just a 5-hour drive from Portland to adopt your new BFF! * please note that occasionally there are volunteers who can assist with transporting the dog from the shelter to Grants Pass/Eugene/Salem/Portland *
Del Norte County Animal Control is located in Crescent City, CA. They are open Monday - Friday from 8am to 5pm. They are closed Saturday and Sunday.

Adoption fees are between $15 - $95 depending on if the dog has been previously altered and if you are adopting in Del Norte County or out of the county.
