Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dorothy is a sweet, easygoing lady with gorgeous calico markings on her head and tail. She was found wandering around outside, and judging by the condition of her fur and her weight, she had been fending for herself for a while. But, she is clearly happiest indoors as a family pet. She walked right into her foster home and started purring ... and she hasn't stopped purring since! All it takes is a couple of head scratches or a few flicks of the Cat Dancer to make her blissfully happy. And if you bring her some wet cat food, she'll be your best friend forever.
Aside from traffic noises, Dorothy doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. She's comfortable and trustworthy around small children, though she prefers the company of larger, more predictable humans. She is a bit territorial with the two male cats in her foster home, but we expect that to improve as she continues to build trust and learns they aren't there to steal her food. She hasn't been evaluated around dogs. Her ideal home would be one where she is an only pet, or with a family who can commit to a very gentle, gradual introduction to other animals.
Recently, Dorothy was treated to a full makeover to restore her super-soft cottony coat to all its glory. When her fur grows back, she will need regular grooming to keep it from matting, but that should be a piece of cake because she LOVES to be brushed and combed. Aside from her coat, she is a very low-maintenance kitty. She loves being petted and held but doesn't pester you for attention ... unless you're holding her favorite treats!
Dorothy is estimated to be between 6-8 years young! Her adoption fee of $115 includes her vet exam, distemper combo vaccines, rabies vaccine, routine dewormings, spaying and microchip. She is also Feline Leukemia and FIV negative.
