My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"LUCY" was adopted from us 1 year ago. Since then, she has been deeply loved and well cared for by a wonderful couple.

Sadly, the husband developed Alzheimer's which requires the couple to sell their home and move into a community where he will receive the needed attention while the wife continues to work.

They are not able to take Lucy with them, so tearfully, she was returned to us.

Our prayers are with you, Bill and LuAnn!

If you remember, Lucy's first mommy had passed away. Lucy had then been left at home all alone for long periods of time, unwanted and unloved.

The loss of his wife while raising teenaged children was so very difficult for Lucy's first dad, that he had felt it was best for Lucy just to be euthanized. Instead, the Vet Clinic refused his request and was able to assist in having surrender Lucy to us.

This very pretty, white, female Miniature Poodle was born July 16, 2008 measures at 13 inches tall and came to us weighing 12.4 pounds. Now she weighs 16.4 pounds and needs to lose some weight.

She has a under-bite, so her lower lip is always extending out a bit further than her upper lip. Hey! It looks like she is smiling!

In her new environment, Lucy has been having a great time being the center of attention with lots of love from people. And now she continues to get the love and attention from other Poodles.

I have found that she is quiet, very easy going, soft, gentle and extremely loving. YET, she is also an active girl and will run out your front door if you don't watch her!

Ready to go for a walk? Just grab a leash and watch her come running! Don't have to ask her twice!

This girl loves everyone and is always ready to jump into an open lap for attention from anyone, men (especially) as well as women.

Lucy gets along wonderfully with all of our other Poodles. We did NOT have any problems with Lucy being in her kennel (anxious) while we are gone.

However, as a only dog, Lucy's family found that she became very anxious when no one was home. They strongly feel and request that Lucy would be best in a home with someone home a lot or with another gentle, quiet dog around.

I agree with their suggestion, so Lucy will need to go to family with another dog willing to accept her. Please no young children. A large, quiet, gentle dog would be just fine.

House-training has not been a problem for Lucy. She has been a perfect lady in the house and has always kept her kennel clean.

All of Lucy's Vet work had been completed. Included her being spayed and an umbilical hernia repaired.

X-ray's showed that her tail had been broken in two locations sometime ago. There was nothing we could do to fix it, so about 3 inches of her tail was amputated. But she still has plenty of tail to wag!

She has also been Home Again micro-chipped and registered, wormed, shots are up to date, teeth cleaned, heart-worm tested negative and placed on a preventative.

You can see that Lucy is a bit chunky now.

Lucy's $275.00 adoption fee (plus $21.00 Minnesota State Sales Tax) will help pay for her Vet work. Also included is her kennel, a bag of quality dog food, treats, a new leash with collar, a jacket, toys, a bed, blanket and ALL of her past Vet records. We also have lots of good information to help start your adoption on to the right paw forward!
