Peppy is continuing to do well in obedience class, and is learning to focus despite distractions. He's taking more of an interest in toys, is learning to fetch and loves to chase me around the house and yard. He loves his treats and will do just about anything for pieces of sausage or string cheese. He'll turn around in circles, jump up to touch your hand, sit, shake and lay down. He'll come whenever you call, no matter how softly you say his name, but most of the time he's wherever you are. Peppy likes nothing better than a hug and belly rub and he'll reciprocate with a hug, too.

He'll eat his food enthusiastically, but you have to feed him a handful first. And he'll go into his crate without coaxing if you need to be away for a while or if there's a storm (he gets nervous when it thunders).

Basically, though, Peppy is a joyful boy and every day I see more of his happy-go-lucky personality coming out!

Peppy is a sweet, good-natured, middle-aged boy who loves people. He captures the hearts of all he meets with his tail-wagging enthusiasm. He’s always ready to go for a walk, but would love a fenced-in yard so he has a chance to run. He’s well-mannered: he doesn’t jump on visitors, hop on the furniture or beg for food while you’re dining. He hasn’t shown any issues with resource guarding food or toys. He’s house-trained and quickly settles into his crate at night and when you’re away. And if you’re working, reading or watching TV, he will quietly nap by your side. Peppy gets along well with medium to large dogs, but would prefer no little dogs or cats in his home since he can be a bit overly interested in wee creatures. Peppy is responsive to training and loves to learn new things. Right now he’s working on his name recognition and touch commands and is showing real progress. HIs vet work is current.
