My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You must check out Checkers! He's a 2 year old Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix that was surrendered to Friendship because his owner moved into an apartment and feels Checkers needs more time than he can give to him. This small fellow lived with a big dog and they got along fine. He has never been around cats. Checkers likes kids too but they should be over 10 years of age. He does not like being left alone for long periods of time and at times would potty in the house in protest. Check also does not like to get a bath or have his feet touched. He's a curious boy the loves to explore and once he knows you, he's a lap dog. Checkers prefers women over men but is good with both. He's a little shy at the shelter so please take it slow if you come to visit.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.
