My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greta is an eight pound, two year old spayed female Silky Terrier. She is very healthy and current on heartguard and shots. Her coat is fine and easy to maintain. I clip her with scissors once every 8 weeks and comb her once a week to keep tangles out. She is crate trained and sleeps all night. She will bark at random things but once I tell her to quiet she does. She loves playing ball and I keep two balls rotating to keep her busy on a daily basis as she has a lot of energy. She will not go outside unless you have a ball in your hand and if you do go out she expects to play. She enjoys chewing the stuffing out of toys. She is sweet smelling, has hair instead of fur and loves to lick and give kisses showing her affection. She will clean your neck, your ears and even your nose and french kiss. If you don't like this kind of affection, she is not the dog for you. She is a model lap dog and loves to sit in your lap while you watch TV. She rides well in a car and does ok on a suspendable leash. She would rather be carried when out and about because she can see better and meet people on an eye to eye level. She is a little shy when you call to her and wants you to come pick her up instead of come to you when called. She will wilt if you use a firm voice and she is very sensitive to criticism. If you sit down she is in your lap whether you call her or not. If you talk baby talk and rub her head when you first come home she will tinkle a few drops but this is getting better over time as she matures. When I get home I walk her outside before greeting her and this has helped diminish this. Her birthday is in May 2012. I've never seen a dog with this much energy but because of her small size it is manageable. She is quite the athlete and can jump up to three or four times her height. She is very fast and can outrun most larger dogs. She is agile and tough. She will chase cats, small animals, birds or the like, but she has never met any dog that she has been aggressive with except in play. I do not feel she would do well with children under 8 years of age due to her small size. She does not like high pitched squeals from young children. She greets all adults with love and affection and has no difficulty transitioning to another adults arms. She has gone over four months without an accident in the house but in a new place she will need time to learn new rules. I've raised her from a puppy and she has been full of light and laughter. $200
