Fostered in Texas

Age: 3 years

Weight: 8 lbs.

9/3/2014 - UPDATE - Lily Rose is recovering in her foster home and doing very well! She is an amazing little trooper!

She sends yorkie kisses to everyone who saved her life....all of the wonderful people who donated towards her care and her medical team at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists

We are so happy about her recovery and thrilled that we were a part of saving Lily!

9/2/14 - Sweet Lily Rose is leaving the hospital this evening to continue her recovery in her foster home!

8/30/14 - Our sweet Lily Rose continues to improve. Today they started her on oral medications. She had two HBOT treatments and she will continue them tomorrow. She still has some open areas around her tail, but much improved.

***Lily Rose loves her caregivers at Gulf Coast Veterinary SpecialistsWhenever one of our members is there to visit with her, Lily chooses to follow the GCVS people!! It is clear that she loves them and knows that they are taking such wonderful care of her!***

The plan is to discharge her on Tuesday....She's come a LONG way!

Donations can be made at www.yorkiehavenrescue.com

Thank you to all who have contributed to help us save Lily Rose!

8/29/14 - More good news! They were able to close the one large wound today....it has a drain in it that they believe will be removed in 3 or 4 days. She will continue the treatments in the hyperbaric chamber over the weekend. They believe she may be well enough to be discharged on Tuesday or Wednesday! Lily Rose is true to her breed....a very tough and determined little one! Oh, and we hear she has all the techs wrapped around her little paw....she has them taking turns holding her. Love the care these babies get at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists !!

8/28/14 - Lily Rose is doing well! The deepest wound now has blood flow and will not need any further debridement. It may be closed up in the next couple of days, perhaps even tomorrow! The area of concern on her back end is starting to improve. There is still some questionable tissue up on her back, but that will not be as invasive or difficult to heal if she loses any. Her vital signs are stable, she is eating and she barks for attention and to go for a walk! :) They are hopeful that she may be able to leave the hospital next Tuesday or Wednesday! :)

8/27/14 - Lily Rose went through her surgery without incident today and she actually ate afterwards which they are very happy about!

They removed the obvious dead tissue in the two wounds ... one they were able to close. The other has some muscle involvement and she has a wet to dry dressing which will be changed tomorrow morning. She will have to be anesthetized for that. More than likely on the next day they may be removing more tissue if there is any that is necrotic. They are trying to stimulate the tissues to heal. They did use cold laser on her today and in a few days they are hoping to use the hyperbaric chamber to increase oxygen to her tissues and promote faster healing.

There is some concern about the tissues around her tail and her bottom. They are watching that closely.

So, all in all, it was a good report today! Many thanks to so many of you who are praying for her and also to those who are donating. We had a wonderful response today and will be posting the amount that we have so far for her on our front page!

8/26/14 - Lily Rose is having surgery today on two wounds that are extremely infected. These must be debrided in order for them to heal and for her little body to start to recover. We will update as we know more.

8/24/14 - Lily Rose is not out of the woods. Please continue to pray for her. ,br>

Lily is having a problem maintaining her body temperature due to the systemic infection. If they put her on the warming blanket she becomes very hot at 98 degrees which is actually low. If they take her off of it, within 20 minutes her temp plummets to 96. So, this is a concern...hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon. She needs good blood flow to heal. Her white count did show some immature cells so that does mean that her bone marrow is responding to try to fight the infection. She is not eating which is not a huge surprise, but hopefully will soon because that will help her heal.

The wound by the mouth is actually not inside the mouth...it is external, so that is good news. Her teeth look good. The one wound on her flank is a big concern and they are applying warm compresses to that.

They think that possibly she might have hepatitis due to the infection and that is why her enzymes are elevated. Further diagnostics will be done as needed.

Many thanks to all of you who are praying and donating. We could not help these pups in need without all of our awesome supporters!

PLEASE HELP US HELP THIS SEVERELY INJURED YORKIE

8/23/14 - 7:30 PM - Lily Rose was found on the streets in horrific condition and taken to a shelter who contacted us. She was apparently attacked by another dog and has deep wounds on her back. Additionally she has maggots in her mouth which is also abcessed and her anus. She is currently at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists and is being evaluated.

Please if you can help us with donations for Lily Rose it will be deeply appreciated; and please pray for this precious girl.
