My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please fill out an adoption application if you are interested in adopting Macy.

Macy is a joyful, affectionate, energetic, and strong 2 ½ to 3 year old house-broken girl. She is quite the snuggly sweetheart and loves to spend time with her owner – whether playing ball in the yard, working on obedience, going for a run, or curled up on the couch after a busy day. Macy is as fit-as-a-fiddle and enjoys an active life-style; she loves a family who runs, hikes, or does other activities that will be a great match for her energy level. Macy kennels well, but definitely prefers the close company of humans!

Macy is an incredibly intelligent girl, who already knows dozens of commands and is quite capable of learning more! Her new family will need to fortify her basics: heel, here, whoa / stay, etc., so we would like for her new family to get her involved with obedience training right away to help focus her energy and refine her basics, especially around rascally squirrels or back yard bunnies. Macy is very eager to please and is treat motivated, so giving her a job to work at will be important for this girl, plus will help create a bond between her and her new owner. Due to her athletic ability and personality a family with previous dog handling experience will be ideal! A fenced-in back yard for her to run and play in would be sensational but not absolutely necessary! Additionally, Macy seems to have had a negative experience with a female dog at some point which causes her to become anxious and defensive around other female dogs. Therefore she requires a home with no other female dogs. She has done quite well socializing with male dogs and children ages 8 to 86!
