Chef is a 5 year old mix that was rescued from the Baldwin Park shelter in California. Chef had some OCD tendencies and was not trained. He was enrolled up at Partners Training facility in Cave Creek, Arizona. Chef has blossomed dramatically. He now knows his sit, down, heel and stay commands as well as house and crate trained. Chef comes with 8 additional weeks of training for him and his new owner to do once a week.
Chef would be best suited to a low key home with no kids or other pets. He is very eager and willing to please but you have to earn his respect and maintain a loving yet firm relationship with him. He will need someone who will provide him with rules and structure and who understands his behavior and is willing to mentally stimulate him daily by reinforcing positive behavior and some basic rules. He is the type of pup who you give an inch, and he will take a mile. He also needs to be allowed time to adjust to a new environment. Again, he is very affectionate but he needs to learn to trust you. You develop this trust through love and also a working relationship where you are a team with him. He is a pretty confident boy and needs to know he is not the boss or the one in control, the people are. He will need someone who is strict and won't let him get away with any pushy or naughty behavior. Once he understands that you are in charge and you have developed a relationship with him, he is a fabulous dog with a great foundation.
Chef loves to play ball and will play for hours with his new family. Chef also loves to give kisses.
