Winnie's Story...
Winnie was found running loose in a rural town in Georgia. Frightened at first, she has quickly warmed up to her foster mom as well as the dog with whom Winnie is sharing space . Winnie is ~20 lbs and appears to be predominantly a Dachshund. She is very friendly and playful and would be a wonderful family pet. If you would like to give sweet Winnie a home please contact Peggy Stern at 908-246-6451.

She is microchipped but never registered, the microchip lead to back a local animal control shelter where she was adopted from. She was spayed in Nov. at the HELP Clinic and vaccinated and checked for HW, where she turned up being Negative, the owner was located and stated that she had given the dog away about 5 mos ago, but she doesnt remember who she gave the dog to. She has another dog now and doesnt have any interest in taking the dog back. She will have to be tested again for HW because we dont know if the previous owner ever put her on a preventative. We dont know how long she has been on her own running around. She is available for rescue, if interested please contact us.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Winnie, a Bartonsville Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Bartonsville, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Bartonsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bartonsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bartonsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bartonsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
