Clemente's Story...
Hi there! My name's Clemente and I'm a 13 year old shepherd mix. In August I was one of 67 animals AFW rescued from the SPCA in Fayette County. Boy was I glad to get out of there! Now I'm at the shelter in Youngwood waiting for someone to come give me a forever home. Could that someone be YOU?? I may not be the youngest or cutest dog, but I still deserve a loving home to spend the remainder of my golden years in!

I'm up to date on shots, neutered, and even have a microchip! Now all I need is YOU! The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit me!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Clemente, a Youngwood Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
