Marlie is a real sweetheart and a special needs girl due to her vision. She has nuclear sclerosis and retinal detachment. Life must have been pretty tough for this gentle, little lady as she was practically emaciated when taken into our program. She appears to be a Min Pin/Chihuahua mix and is 12 to 13 years old. Other than her vision, Marlie is a happy healthy little girl. When she gets excited she will twirl and jump to let you know. Marlie is heartworm negative and up to date on vaccinations. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application.
You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.
After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not meet he/she will be adopted to that home.
Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
