Hi! My name is Bo, and I'd like to tell you my story. I’ve had a lot of change in my life recently, and I'm hopeful that I will soon find my new family. My former master became very sick and eventually passed away. Not only did I lose my best friend, I also lost my boyish figure. His family tried to care for me during that sad time, but I didn’t get very much exercise, so I managed to put on some extra pounds. After a stint in a shelter, I’m now in a very safe and happy place. My waistline is back to where it should be, and my sadness is lifting.
Let me tell you what I am looking for in my new home. Most of my days are spent enjoying toys and Nylabones. Did you check out my photos? The one with me and all my toys wasn’t staged! I really do love my toys, and I easily entertain myself. If you have a toy box full of soft, squeaky toys, we should talk. Do you also have a king-sized bed? Don’t let my shorter legs fool you. I can easily jump onto a bed, and a larger bed means there will also be plenty of room for you! You can leave for work or errands without worrying about my house manners. I only chew my Nylabones, and I wouldn’t even think about going potty in the house. (That would be so undignified!)
I heard my foster mom say to someone that I never make any noise. How could I, when there is always a toy in my mouth? She loves that I’m so mellow and that I go with the flow. Riding in the car? Yep, I’m happy to accompany you anywhere you want to go. I travel very nicely, and I would love to see the country with you, maybe in an RV. I could use some work on my leash manners, but I sure do love to go for walks. I don’t really play with other dogs, but I get along well with them, and kids are great, too. We recently went to the dog park, and that was so much fun. I enjoyed being in the middle of the action. (And you never know which humans might have treats in their pockets for me!) I'm not sure if I’ve ever met those creatures called cats, but since I’m so easygoing, they might be all right.
While I am nearly perfect, it would probably be good for us to take an obedience class together. My repertoire doesn’t include many commands, and it would be a fun way for us to bond. My foster mom found out quickly that I am food motivated, so training should be a breeze. While I don’t pay much attention to the birds or squirrels outside, I do like to explore, so my new home should probably have a fenced yard.
So, what do you think? My foster mom tells me frequently that I am a very handsome, sweet boy and that I'm quite a catch. If you are looking for a loving companion who is easy to have around, we should meet!
Affectionately,
Bo
