Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I am a 4-year-old spayed female Basset Hound mix. I weigh about 31 pounds, but I could stand to gain a few more. I am a very sweet, docile gal with a great personality and looks to match. Have you ever seen a dog that looks like me? I'm pretty unique! My previous family turned me into the shelter with most of my hair on my rump and hind legs missing and my skin was pretty dry. Can you believe that they would just dump me in such a terrible condition?! Anyway, I'm doing much better now and almost all my hair has grown back. But at the time, the shelter staff believed that I had a flea allergy so they put me on a flea preventative and stuck me in a run. The very next day a staff member told me I was going to get spayed. Someone at the shelter must have seen something really special in me since most dogs are not fixed before an adopter can be found. Obviously, this was good news for me! They wouldn't spay me if they were most likely going to euthanize me. So, off I went to see the staff vet. Everything went well with the surgery and I was healing well. It was almost 2 weeks before CageFree pulled me from the shelter and brought me to their rescue. After seeing the condition my coat was in they sent me to see a private vet. My vet said that I had a bacterial infection that was left untreated for quite some time. He prescribed some antibiotics and an antihistamine to help with any itching. Now, I'm as good as new! I'm currently hanging out at the rescue with all of my friends...canine and human. I get along fantastically with all the other dogs here and I love to play with all my puppy pals, so I'm having a great time, but I still can't wait to find my forever family. I would love to know what it is like to have a family that loves me and cares for me like I've always deserved. Do you think you could be the one for me? I'm very calm, well-behaved, and loving. I promise to give you kisses and I want nothing more than to be by your side. If you want to meet me, and I really hope you do, please don't hesitate to contact CageFree and tell them you would like to schedule an appointment. I can't wait to start my new life!
