Here's what the humans have to say about me:
6 OCTOBER: Bella Grace is a very sweet older dog who definitely knows what it means to be in a house. She is very comfortable with couches and beds and is completely house and crate trained. She is a bit of an escape artist and has figured out how to undo the latches on part of her crate and wiggle out of the smallest opening possible. She does have a history of heartworms for which she has been treated and she is currently still on her exercise restrictions. She is not showing any ill effects from the treatment or the heartworms and cannot wait to be able to run around the yard. She walks very well on the leash and is eager for when those walks can be extended to a longer distance, hopefully in about another month. She tolerates other dogs, but does get a little jealous when other dogs get food and attention and can try to be quite bossy. Do to this she would probably be best as either the only dog or to be adopted by an experienced dog owner with other dogs. She has gotten used to her foster brothers, but she seems to prefer the company of humans to the company of dogs. She is very quite, except for when she is left alone, then she tends to vocalize and try to escape from the kennel. We are taking steps to discourage that, but it is a work in progress. Otherwise Bella is very affectionate, loves to snuggle, and desires to be a human companion.
Bella Grace is an adorable, 5- to 6-year-old beagle girl who came to BREW from central Virginia. She was pregnant, but sadly the puppies died before they were born. Bella Grace is recovering from a hysterectomy and is not quite ready for adoption, but she will be available soon. She is a pretty girl (the photos do not do her justice!) and was a favorite at the vet clinic and kennel. Stay tuned as we get to know Bella Grace better!
