Ellie's Story...
"Hi! My name is ELLIE, and I'm a two-year-old Chihuahua mix cutie-pie who's practically perfect in every way (not to brag!). I'm playful, fun-loving, and cuddly. I'd be an excellent family pet, and I get along great with other dogs. I know how to sit on command, and I've already been house trained. Did I mention my super-cute face and my happy disposition? I'm here at the shelter because my owner had to move away, and I could not go along. I'm not too happy about it, but you know what? I'm a wonderful little dog, so I have a good feeling that a nice person or family out there will see that I'm a special little lady, then they'll come to the El Cajon Animal Shelter to take me to my new loving home. Maybe that person is you! Won't you come visit me? They have a lovely play yard here where we can spend some time getting better acquainted. I think I see a long and fulfilling relationship in our future, so let's get it started ASAP! I hope to see you soon. Love, Ellie" Kennel #10

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ellie, a El Cajon Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
