As soon as we saw this little girl was brought into the shelter, we she needed to be a Double Dog Rescue dog. She looked naive, scared, and confused as her owners dropped her off and left. Apparently the kids no longer had interest in her. She got over her sadness quickly and demonstrated that in the play area. She romped around with all the other dogs. She was so happy that the picture of the grass was the only photo we could take because she wouldn't sit still. She has a personality to charm anyone. She loves to be held and kissed and will make a great cuddler. She was introduced to dogs and cats and did fine. She wasn't officially tested with kids but based on her temperament, she will be great. We promised this little girl the next family she goes to will be her last.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
