My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Stitch! I am a 20 lb sweet lab mix, between 3-5 months. I’m as cute as I can be! I was found in the middle of a busy road with my mom close by, her name is Lilo. We were covered in fleas and ticks with our ribs showing because we were so hungry! Even in that condition I was happy to see the ladies who stopped to give us food and take us off the street. I sure was scared of people and barked at them but once I saw the food they had there was no way I was going to hide! They put us in a car and brought us to a nice place that wasn’t so hot and it had more food!! We got baths and tick removal right away, and we made sure to stand really still and give them kisses the whole time they were washing us. I even rolled on my back so they could really get my little belly!
The first few nights we slept in a crate at night and played in the sunroom during the days. I like that crate because it makes me feel safe. We both do really well in the crate and even cooperate on those pesky leashes they like to put us on. I love my foster family, and they understand that I’m just a baby and I have accidents in the house sometimes. At this new place they have two other dogs and this furry little thing that makes a weird meowing noise. At first I was skeptical of all these new critters, but now we’re buddies, Leonard is my favorite friend, and we run and romp outside until we’re both panting and laying in the grass! I even let the meowing fur ball in the house rub against me and bat at my head and tail! I get a little nervous around new people and animals because my whole life it was just me and my mom. I usually bark and then try to hide when I’m unsure of what I should do or who might hurt me. people on the street aren’t always nice to us dogs. I haven’t met any of those little humans yet but so far I’ve been friendly with everyone I’ve met as long as they don’t surprise or startle me. I’m a healthy, happy and now a spayed little girl looking for a permanent home! Mom and I would love to find a great home where we can stay together but I think we would be ok on our own too.

With Kisses and Wiggles,
Stitch
