My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Finley is a lovely 8 year old male Border Collie. Finley is a mostly white rough coated dog, but hears just fine. He holds his ears down when he is unsure, but he has the cutest ears when he is confident or interested in something! Finley is a sweet boy who loves to be around people. He would very much love to be a lap dog, but is a good boy and will stay “off” your lap too. Finley gets along with the entire pack in his foster home - even the alpha male and female dogs. (not always an easy feat!) He enjoys playing with the other dogs. We have not tested Finley with children or cats yet, although he is so gentle we believe he would be fine with appropriate children.

Finley has a very gentle temperament, and he can be nervous in new situations and environments. Finley would do best in a home with another confident dog for companionship. Being around confident dogs makes Fin more confident. :)

Finley is house trained and crate trained. He does have mild separation anxiety and is fearful of storms. Finley is crated when his foster mom is not home, and will sometimes drool but has not been destructive in his crate when left alone thus far. He has only been in his foster home about a week and a half, so his separation anxiety may get better or change as he settles in. A sedative and safe place (like a crate) help Finley be comfy during the larger thunderstorms.

Finley is a great companion to his person. He loves attention but is happy to lay down nearby to keep you company as well. Finley would love having a quiet home of his own again with a dog buddy to hang out with. This sweet guy has lots of love to give.
