Prince's Story...
"Howdy, folks! My name is PRINCE, and I'm a happy one-year-old Wire-Haired Dachshund mix who will light up your life. I'm affectionate, loving, and respectful. I enjoy going for walks, and I love to snuggle. I've been quiet at the shelter, and I'd probably do well in either a house or an apartment. I get along great with both people and other dogs, and I'd be a wonderful family pet. Everyone says that I'm an all-around wonderful little guy, and I'm sure to become a cherished member of any family. The shelter staff is pretty sure that I've already been house trained, but I might need a refresher course when I get to my new home. I've been waiting here at the El Cajon Animal Shelter for someone to adopt me and love me forever, so I hope you'll head over to visit me very soon. It will be so nice to snuggle a kind person who will appreciate my relaxed temperament and my softhearted nature. They have a really nice play yard where we can spend time with each other, then you can see that I'm the dog for you. Love, Prince" Kennel #31

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Prince, a El Cajon Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
