Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ETHEL is a 7 year old yellow spayed female Lab who weighs 55 pounds (needs to gain some ~ should be 65-70 lbs). She is from a rural area and would probably not do well in a city environment, townhouse/condo/apartment or busy neighborhood. Ethel says, "I feel great , get fed 3 times a day and get attention and love at the rescue so life is good for her! It will be better when I can have a family I can call my own." She is very friendly, likes people and other dogs and has moderate energy. She hasn’t shown much interest in toys as she would rather be with you. She is a very sweet dog and will make some lucky family a super companion. She's approved for kids aged 10+.
Nov 29 2014: Ellie is doing well, she is very well mannered and her behavior is almost perfect (She's a Lab so never will be perfect). She loved to go for rides and walks, greats all other dogs with her tail wagging. Foster had company and they have a step on who is very bossy, Ellie took it for a while then had a discussion with the step on who then left her alone so small dogs are not' her favorite now. Ellie had her checkup is on an antihistamine seasonal allergies, her skin is improving and her elbow pad infection has cleared up. She is on meds. for infection, vet sent a culture out to determine proper medicine to cure it. Her foster says I don't understand why someone has not come to meet Ellie as she is wonderful. Took some new pictures when she came for her checkup.
Update (11/10): Foster says she doesn't answer to Ethel so calls her Ellie, and says she is a sweet soul who loves to be rubbed and petted. Very well- mannered and doesn't get on the furniture {has the recessive no furniture lab gene :-) }. She gets along very well with Bailey, our 3 year old black lab who she hangs with during the day. Loves to ride in the car, especially if we are going to the dog park, where she is been friendly with everyone she meets She is completely house and crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night by preference. She may be 7 years old but, she has plenty of energy for walks and play. Her skin conditions is greatly improved you would not recognize her a s the same dog we took in. With her good manners and friendly personality she would be an easy fit into most any family.
Update (9/19): Ethel had her checkup and is doing well, her skin is clearing up and her hair is growing back she looks so much better that she did when she came into Lab Rescue. She loves to be with you and thinks she would like to be a Laplab. She has been out to play with other Lab Rescue dogs and enjoys playing with them.
This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. The rescue has around 50 dogs available for adoption.
