My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 6 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver & White
Weight: 50 lbs
Variety: Bench

Meet handsome Cooper! He is full of energy and is always ready to play fetch. He likes everyone he has met, and he is good with both people and dogs.

Cooper spent most of his previous life tied up in a yard. When he was rescued, he was covered with matted fur, was very thin, and had severe infections in both ears. His only entertainment had been digging holes. Cooper has now discovered the joys of fetching tennis balls and other toys. He just loves his tennis ball, and fetch is the game that he lives for!

Because of his boundless energy, Cooper will need a family who can allow him the exercise he needs. Cooper will require a fenced yard so that he can run and play in safety. He also uses a front-attaching harness, and he shows excellent behavior on long walks, knowing that it's pointless to try to chase squirrels with the harness on.

This boy also enjoys car rides and never gets bored with looking at the scenery go by. Cooper is an alert, friendly dog who has been almost perfect in his housetraining. His foster family takes him out for a walk or a run around the yard every three hours or so. He is a quick learner, too, and he stopped counter surfing right away when he was interrupted.

Cooper sleeps in the spare bedroom on a dog bed, and he goes quietly in at bedtime, making no noise until the door opens in the morning. He has had no nighttime accidents. He has free run of the house during the day, and he is not destructive. Cooper has been left at home for as long as three hours with no problems. He is waiting patiently by the door when his foster parents get back.

Cooper is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vetting. He had his ears totally cleaned out by the vet. He is on antibiotics to get rid of the painful ear infections, and the mats all over his fur have been shaved off.

Cooper would likely be best in a home with older, dog-savvy children and a family with someone at home more often than not. This guy really likes to be with you at all times. He adores being petted and will reward you with a big smile and super-fast tail wagging!

Cooper loves his new life, which is full of plenty of food, toys, exercise, and affection. He is a very happy boy who would love to have his own Forever Family who can give him the same. If that describes your family, please contact his case managers at the e-mail address below right away.

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Cooper.
