Smidge's Story...
Smidge has been a shelter favorite from the moment he walked through the door. Whether you're a cat lover or not, he has charmed everyone with his sweet, gentle personality and nonstop purr. He loves any kind of attention, any way he can get it.

For the longest time, we didn't think he would ever grow, which is what earned him his name as a "Smidge" of a cat, because he was stuck at only a pound for over a month. Perfectly healthy but unbelievably petite.

Now he's making up for lost time, and he has grown into a simply amazing little cat who is perfectly content to sit on your lap for hours at a time.

Now he has finally been neutered, and he ready to find a new permanent family who will be lucky enough to call this boy their own.

You can meet Smidge at the Adoption Center Monday through Saturday 1pm to 7pm. He has been neutered, FeLV/FIV tested, fully vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated and microchipped, so he's ready to rock n roll.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smidge, a Struthers Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Struthers, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Struthers.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Struthers already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Struthers breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Struthers paves the way for another one to be saved.
