My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Louie loves everybody and you will love Louie! He's a 6 year old Shepherd mix that came in with his pal Pugsley because their owner was too ill to care for them. Both dogs were very well taken care of in their former home. Louie is a very outgoing dog who enjoys hiking in the metro parks and car rides. He also loves being around other dogs but has never been around cats or young children. Sometimes Louie gets a little too excited when taking treats so watch your fingers! All in all Louie is a wonderful dog that would fit right in with any family.

On September 18, 2014, Louie was selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. He is currently undergoing training at the Grafton Correctional Institution. Prison Dogs are trained in obedience, basic commands, manners and proper leash walking. He will spend approximately 12 weeks at the prison.

If you are interested in adopting a prison dog, adoption applications are now being accepted. They can be downloaded at www.friendshipapl.org under ADOPT-FIND A FRIEND. A limited amount of apps will be accepted for each Prison Dog. They must be hand delivered to Friendship. If you have any questions, please contact the shelter at 440-322-4321.
