My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Amy is the sweetest little girl. She loves to cuddle and will follow you everywhere you go. She really enjoys meeting/playing with other dogs and even though she only weighs 6 lbs, she is not afraid to meet big dogs (in fact I think she likes them better than small dogs). We go on long walks everyday and she is always on the prowl for squirrels so she can chase them. She loves the resident dog, and always has to know where she is and what she is doing. She even cuddles up next to her. However, she does like attention and will let you know to pay attention to her. It's pretty funny.

Amy is potty trained and goes on pee pads in the house when I'm not home to let her outside. She does occasionally have accidents though. She can be a little nervous meeting new people but generally warms up fast. She has only interacted with children a few times but was perfectly fine. She has never been around a cat so not sure how she would react. She is pretty active and enjoys playing with toys, going to the dog park, and long walks BUT she will always cuddle next to you on the couch. Amy is estimated to be about 1 year old and weighs about 6 pounds. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed.

All dogs are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.

Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.

We also have an Adoptable Dog Meet & Greet on Saturday November 29, 2014, at Fetch Delivers Warehouse, 783 Harding St. NE. Suite 150, Minneapolis, MN 55413, from noon - 2 pm. Occasionally dogs cannot make it to the Meet & Greet, therefore feel free to verify if your dog of interest is able to attend. Please bring a copy of your pre-adoption application.

SAFE HANDS RESCUE is holding a photo event on Sunday, December 7th called SANTA PAWS. This is a great opportunity to get your photo's for the holidays! For more information please go to the Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1566731490224015/
