Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Emma is as sweet as they come! She is a 1 year old beagle mix and is very petite at 20 pounds. She enjoys snuggling on blankets and stuffed toys and loves to be around people and other dogs. She is bashful at first but warms up quickly. Emma is currently in a foster home with 2 other female dogs, no kids (although she has been introduced to a toddler age child and did very well), and a very old cat. Emma did not seem to have much interest in getting to know the cat.....she seemed to almost shy away from her. She does great with the resident dogs and loves to play and run around the fenced in yard! Emma stays in a kennel during the day while we are away and sleeps on a doggie bed on the floor of the bedroom at night. She is doing well with potty training and she is walking on a leash and starting to learn some basic commands.....she is so eager to learn. Emma's big brown beautiful eyes will melt your heart! All dogs are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.
Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed.
Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.
We also have an Adoptable Dog Meet & Greet on Saturday October 18, 2014, at Fetch Delivers Warehouse, 783 Harding St. NE. Suite 150, Minneapolis, MN 55413, from noon - 2 pm. Occasionally dogs cannot make it to the Meet & Greet, therefore feel free to verify if your dog of interest is able to attend. Please bring a copy of your pre-adoption application.
