My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Coco is a precious tiny yorkie Pomeranian mix whose lifetime owner moved away and left him behind!!! He is 10 years young and weighs 5.5 pounds. This little man fell off a piece of furniture as a puppy, broke a leg and the owner never got it fixed so he does have a mild handicap which doesn’t slow him down for a minute!!! His breed mix are both long lived breeds and we hope that Coco will have another great five years with his new human. Coco’s favorite spot to be is right in your lap where you can dote on him all day! He’s always been an only dog and is fearful of the other two dogs in his foster home who are 12 and 22 pounds. He would probably be fine with cats but would do best as an only dog. This little fellow is usually quiet but when his school aged caretaker leaves for school he cries and cries! Because Coco does bark when everyone leaves, he will not do well in an apartment or condo, and he does love to be in the yard when his foster family is out there. Coco is PERFECTLY house trained and he doesn’t need to be crated at all. His adoption fee is $250 to cover his updated veterinary care including a full dental which left him toothless. He is heartworm negative and on prevention, shots are current, he was previously neutered and he has a HomeAgain microchip.
