My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jasmine: 7 Year Old Non-Spayed Yellow Female Lab 70 Pounds

Update from the foster mom:

We have Jasmine in a foster home with another Lab, they are best friends and love playing with each other. Jasmine is crated when the foster mom is away and she sleeps on her dog bed at night. She is an active girl even though she is seven. The foster mom has been working on her leash skills and she is doing much better with a correction collar. Jasmine is being fostered in the city and she loves her walks and her hikes. Jasmine is one of these dogs that always has a smile on her face no matter what happens to her. Always wagging her tail and ready to go on the next adventure. She rides well in the car and will settle down after a few minutes and she is fine in the home and is housebroken. We have done all her medical – spay, shots, heartworm test and microchip and she has not had any health issues in her seven years.

Jasmine’s family lost their home and had to move into a place that could would not take dogs. They thought they found a great home for her but they found out the owner they selected wanted to make her into a breeding dog. They contacted the new owner and convinced them to give her back. They had her in their new place and was trying to find a new home for her but the landlord found out and they had to take her to the Ukiah shelter. Lab Rescue works closely with the Ukiah shelter so they contacted us to see if we would be able to pull her and take her into our program. Once we met Jasmine we knew she was a wonderful dog that needed to get out of the shelter and burn off some of her energy.

This is what we know about Jasmine:

Jasmine has been owned by one family since she was a puppy. They purchased her from a breeder in the Mendocino area and she has been a loved pet her entire life. She has been an inside dog, she has been around kids of all ages and she has been around cats. She does get excited when she sees them but she could be trained to not chase them. Even though Jasmine is seven she is a very active dog and needs to go to an active family. The foster mom says she is full of energy and as you can see she loves her new foster brother. She has been around all dogs and has never had any issues with them. She loves to play ball, ride in the car and of course she loves the water! She knows a few commands sit, stay and down. The one thing Jasmine needs is help walking on a leash. We are not sure her owners walked her on a leash very often. We would recommend using a correction collar with her. She is able to jump in and out of the car and when she is riding in the car we would suggest a tie down or a crate. She had not had any health issues and is current on her shots, is heartworm negative and is microchipped. Lab Rescue is working on getting her spayed.

Lab Rescue would like to find a home for Jasmine that is around, is active and a home that will continue the training she has started. We would recommend a home with older children as Jasmine is a very excited girl and may knock over small children. Jasmine is located in San Francisco.

If you have the time for this active happy girl and want her to be a part of your family, please contact Liz at 415-613-6374.
(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
