MEET OSCAR MURPHY
The cutest li'l Dachshund/Australian Shepherd mix you ever did see! He is 11 months old, 10.5 lbs and just like all those other famous Oscars and Murphys you've heard about. He is the perfect blend of loveable character, puppy playfulness and poetic assertiveness. OSCAR loves being with his family and friends but isn't fond of cats or small children. He enjoys riding in the car if he can see where he's going (and help you drive). His favorite games are catch and tag (when You chase after Him), and he also loves his toys. OSCAR is leash and harness trained and loves going for regular walks. He is super affectionate and will gladly cuddle in your lap on the couch and bury his nose in the blankets, but he also sleeps in his own crate at bedtime - according to his foster mom, he sleeps about 7 hours a night. SO...what say ye, Friends? Do you think your heart longs for a wee little Murphy (I mean doxie/aussie shepherd mix) like our OSCAR? If so, maybe you can be his new forever family.
OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.
WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
